I plot anomaly trend data over time. I would like the ability to include dynamic vertical reference lines on the date (x axis) for all applicable chart types (line, bar, stacked bar, combination, etc). The reference lines represent milestones and help to explain and understand changes in trend data.

It has been almost 6 years - any progress? Nice to work with software that needs to be hacked to achieve something as simplistic as this (among myriad other very, very basic features).

Such a low hanging fruit for the PowerBI team. When you making combo charts (line + bar) its impossible to have a vertical line drawn.

This is a must in every industry!

It's a very useful idea, now you can get a x-axis constant line for linear x-axis but not for categorical x-axis, I need this to set the current week on an estimation graphic

Completely agree. This is a functionality which is needed for business users, particularly when trying to highlight pivot points where projects changed the trajectory of a line on a line or combo chart.

Hi Microsoft Power BI Team, if you are listening and reading these comments, please can you add this functionality. It's extremely difficult to find a work around. It should have been simple option really on the line and bar chart or line chart visual.

To add to this. A line would allow to easily show the most recent value of a histogram or stacked bar for instance. Much needed, this issue is.

I really would like to see vertical or reference lines.

The analytics tab allows constants by no vertical lines?

There are multiple searches suggesting a hack, which I find very limited.

OkViz has it for free, but to remove the watermarks I have to pay 180/yr for 3 licenses min.

Environmental consultant here, need to show dates where we implement a treatment to a site to illustrate impacts of the treatment (e.g. +/- in contaminant concentration). Better yet if we can add this to an already established stacked bar and line chart, but that might be a lot to ask if we can't add a dynamic reference line to a graph with a single y-axis.

I agree, I need this too.
I'm creating a pareto chart, and I want to put a vertical and horizontal line for my 80/20 position
