The description of the fields need to be available in mouse over and / or via Q&A. So that users will know exactly what they are looking into without the need to going through a separate Data Dictionary.

RE: Description of the Fields
Any traction on this? It would be useful to all report consumers for this to be available in the tooltip.
RE: Description of the Fields
Field description as tooltip option is much needed.
RE: Description of the Fields

RE: Description of the Fields
Having descriptions (annotations, metadata, definitions, calculation explanations, examples, etc) contextually available in a hover or click is immensely powerful and a seemingly obvious need for consumers. This should be available not only for fields and measure values, but entire charts, column headers, slicers, etc.
This would save so much time and curb misunderstanding for the business users.
Most tools out there don't do a great job in this area. Just happened to see a Tableau demo and was impressed first that this was a first-class feature and second that it looked to be done quite well.
Once you see contextual descriptions in action, you get flashbacks of having to explain a metric or data source to a coworker, then you really realize how much this is needed in PowerBI (and every other reporting, data management and analytic tool you use).
There are a few different ideas similar to this one (MS please pool the votes).
RE: Description of the Fields
Power BI Designer should have the description of the fields to be one of the properties. So, that those description will be available in the reports on mouse over
