Convert a visual to a measure

it would be great if there was a function that converts a visual to a measure. The visual should stay as is so that the designer can decide whether to keep or delete it and the measure should be created and appear in the data pane.

will you ever introduce a format option that allows us to use a thousands separator? I know it has been requested before and didn't get many votes. Because it's so basic people probably don't even think about it. It would really help with having clearer/better visibility of data....
