Right now, 'alerts's can only be set against numbers or gauge tiles. It would be nice to set 'alerts's against a measure that is being plotted in a bar graph (and/or other visuals). The user would be notified when one or more of the bars reaches a threshold.

It's very weird that such a necessary process doesn't exist in Power Bi, as it's not feasible to set up multiple alerts to track incoming changes thus leaving clients in the dark.

This feature is indeed required to enable us leverage Power BI reports-data to make a proactive decision. will be very very helpful.Looking forwardd to this feature/functionality to come from 'our' Power BI.. :)

I am also looking for an alert based on each row value in table. Is that possible? or do we have any Idea submitted on this? this is a much needed one for us. Please let me know, if there are any workarounds

This feature is very much in need. Currently we cannot set 'alerts's for any visual other than cards. We had a situation where our client wanted to set thresholds in a graph. Actually they purchased some other BI tool because Power BI didn't have this capability.
And also some times end users need to set thresholds by themselves. That feature is also not there in Power BI
