There is a problem I have found when exporting currency formatted columns from PBI to .csv
Once you open this .csv in excel, the dollar sign gets put adjacent to the number value, as a result, excel doesnt recognize that A. this is a number and B. that it is currency - so even if you try to reformat the column in excel, its impossible... the only workaround I have found is to forgo formating like currency in PBI

RE: Exporting .csv - problem with currency and date formats

Hello Ryan,
I will ask the team but the current export is by design and easy to resolve in Excel.
To fix these values back to numbers in Excel type a 1 in a cell, copy it, and highlight the columns with these $ strings. Right click and choose paste special > multiply.
Thanks,
Chuck
