Nowadays Power BI offers to install and create a new Gateway Cluster via cmdlet using the commands Install-DataGateway and Add-DataGatewayCluster.
It would be really helpful a command to assign the installed gateway to an existing cluster in order to automatize the installation and login.

RE: Assign gateway to existing cluster via cmdlet

I've automated the Gateway deployment, data source creation and data source user permissions on a single Gateway just to find adding a 2nd Gateway for resilience to the existing Cluster programmatically is unsupported. Hoping this idea will be implemented in the near future

RE: Assign gateway to existing cluster via cmdlet

We have an automated deployment of VMs + On-premises Data Gateways via Terraform. I'm guessing this is a pretty typical deployment strategy, but without the ability to connect / restore / takeover existing Gateway Clusters we are stuck with manual steps in Power Platform Admin Center and Power Automate to support redeploy.See also this suggestion.
