It will be useful to see the results of calculations as you type them, like in Power Pivot. I feel it is a bit convenient to type in the Dax code and then add the result to the canvas to check if you are getting the desired result
In power Pivot, you can see the result of the calculations and filter the tables to check if you are getting the expected results, which is makes it easy and saves a lot of time in creating the data models
It will be useful if we have that similar feature in the Data view within Power BI desktop wherein we can write the dax code, filter the tables and see the results in a calculation view or something similar

Something like "calculation area" in Excel PowerQuery would be very helpful.
Else you have to create a visual to test measures.
