One of the big problems we always have is that different users want to see different part of the data and they hate to filter and slice it every single time. Only other workaround is to create a separate report for each user which is very bad idea even if your customers are VPs.
IT would be great if each user could slice, filter and save those settings as default for their view. Even if actual file gets refreshed, these settings would be preserved as long as the underlying object is there.
Many, many BI solution developers and their users would be very happy with this capability.

This is a great suggestion, and something we've discussed in the team. If more people think it's important, please cast a vote and help it get prioritized!

RE: Filtering and slicing should be saveable for each user

We have had similar requests from a large number of users . The dashboard are on an enterprise level but users are looking for data at a lower granularity level. They have to make a lot of effort in selecting and filtering to fetch their data and are frustrated to do every time they log in into the dashboard .

This is critical for us when developing reports for a WW audience. I voted on the related idea here that has more votes: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi/suggestions/8141748-save-user-filters-on-reports

I think this is great feature need to be added. Specially for large user base where each users last filter selection need be saved so next time they login they see same filter selection in power bi service. All Large user companies need it.

Yes, this is a must. Used to work woth Qlikview in the past and used the filter save a lot. Also sharing the data slicing would be needed.

'@Will Thompson:
I guess you could merge the request with this one:

RE: Filtering and slicing should be saveable for each user

One thing is add possibility to save my filter/slice for next refresh ... great idea!
Second one is ability to have in data some parameter about logged (effective) user and use it for default filter/slice. For example when we have nice report for sales team, it would be great immediately to see for every user revenue from “my” customers, my stock value, data of my subordinates etc. Now user must always and always filter “his data” or we have to create dozen similar report for every single user.

Is there an update on this idea? This is a problem my users are raising, that filters they apply in a report are lost, even within the same session when exiting/re-entering the report.
