I've really learned to enjoy the flexibility of the Plotly chart package. As a Python programmer it would be great to extend the Python support within Power BI to also include this powerful package.

RE: Plotly package support with Python

Hi everybody,my organization's policies force any pbi developer/scientists in the organization, to use only microsoft certified visual object and we cant workaroud it by R or Python plugin (using good libraries) because Microsoft PowerBI inhibits to install new library inside pbi service enterprise space). We cant produce reports that management needs and then we swithces service towards another collaborative bi platform. Sorry

RE: Plotly package support with Python

The visual appearance of Power BI is heavily outdated, I wish more modern look and feel and a viable option to use custom Plotly visuals.

RE: Plotly package support with Python

Please add Plotly to the list of supported lib. Their interactive Sankey diagram is awesome!

RE: Plotly package support with Python

Please add support for Python Plotly in the Power BI Service. The Power BI documentation says "python packages are being added all the time" (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/service-python-packages-support) but if that is so, why is the list of supported Python packages so short - only 8 packages are listed? Plotly.py appears to meet the requirements for support in the Power BI service - it is open source with an MIT license, and is available on PyPl (https://pypi.org/project/plotly/). An R implementation is already supported in Power BI - why not the Python implementation? It would provide functionality such as interactive 3-D plots that is not available in current Power BI visualizations.

RE: Plotly package support with Python

I agree the flexibility you have with Plotly is a game changer. Guess in the mean time I will have to brush up on my R skills...

RE: Plotly package support with Python

Yes, please. There is already some sort of support with R. Would make sense to extend this to python as well.

adding full Plotly support really opens the door to incredible visualizations, PLEASE ADD SUPPORT. These custom visualizations should be dynamic!
