When creating a chart with small multiples, it would be helpful if the number of rows or columns could be dynamically generated based on the number of distinct values in a field, eg, the number of rows in a chart could start at 1 if there is only 1 item, expand to two if there are two, etc.

RE: Dynamic Small Multiples

AT LEAST, when I define 5 rows, but only one small multiple has data, the graph should enlarge to full available height. When only one small multiple is showed, mouse selection could be enabled. Currently, it is disabled as soon as we enable small multple.

RE: Dynamic Small Multiples

Fully agree. the "rows" and "columns" parameters could be based on a measure with de formula button. OR, to have 4 settings instead of 2 : min rows, max rows, min columns, max columns.I often display 7 rows (1 graph for each day of week) to should how values change along hours, each day of week. I set rows = 7.When I slice on a single day of week, I get a flattish graph, followed by plenty of empty space below. It would be great, if it could fit the entire visual height (by setting a "min rows" = 1 and "max rows" = 5 or 7.
