Currently the data Labels are just the values displayed in a graph, often it is required to have one or more measures as data labels to provide additional context to the data being display. Ex. If you have a bar graph showing sales for different regions yo u might want to have YoY% as a data label

You can do this now by dropping fields into the Tooltips area of the field well.

Will, I think your solution is a different approach. I actually have many customers asking for a specific data label to show multiple information such as "10 Units, 1M Revenue" and the bar chart to be based on Revenue.
They don't want to use the tooltip but instead see it on the data label.
Also remember that not all scenarios allow user interaction like clicking or hovering charts... using embedded solutions you can be building dashboards to be displaying on TV screens etc, and this customization is a real necessity.

I'm not sure this should have been closed -- the tooltip feature described by Will adds the measure information to the tooltip, not the data label. It would be great to be able to change the data label to the alternate measure value.
