This is similar to several other ideas in the system, but this idea has a specific recommendation. It is the. It comes from the Power BI Unconference session at Microsoft Ignite 2019.

When time functions are executed in the Power BI service, they are done using UTC time. When executed in Power BI Desktop, the local time of the machine is used, and this leads to a fair bit of confusion.

This recommendation is to provide a time zone setting for the tenant, and have all time functions execute in the context of that time zone. This will would solve many of the current time zone problems, particularly for single location companies.

We should also be able to set the time zone on a per report basis, and this setting would be used in the Desktop, and override the tenant setting in the service when used.

After all of these years I still can't believe we have to adjust measures because the service defaults to UTC... GET THIS FIXED!!!

The lack of this feature is very annoying, and leads to bugs
