I have a number of customers that currently use Excel for data manipulation. In some cases data points are changed/corrected and comment is provided. It would be advantageous to allow commentary against a specific data point, similar to the way PerformancePoint allows comments against an item.

RE: Provide commentary against specific data points/cross sections
Need comments allowed per grain of data. For example, if I want to comment on a field in a matrix, and there is a slicer set to June 2019, that comment should only show up for June 2019. When I switch to July 2019, the report should have no comments again until they're added for that specific grain and period of data.
RE: Provide commentary against specific data points/cross sections
We have users that want to add a comment to a report table as if they were in Excel. Their ask is: if a delivery is early/late, the manager wants to make a comment, for all to see, regarding what is going on with that order. This allows the other users of the report to see the latest update. This is typically regarding a Table or Matrix table visual.

Might be better to move the votes on this idea to this one which has twice as many votes:

RE: Provide commentary against specific data points/cross sections
My finance users always like to store comments against exceptional data points. The only solution I have for them at present is Excel. 'alerts'ing or workflow associated with the comment is also desirable.

This is a great idea James! We also have number of clients waiting for this feature.
