Currently have to spell out the entire URL to enable hyperlink. Is it possible to give a short name to a URL with hyperlink enabled?

You can do this! A few months back we shipped the ability to format a column in a table as a hyperlink that gets its URL from a different measure or column: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/power-bi-hyperlinks-in-tables Thanks for your votes!

Is there an update on this feature? This is very basic functionality to edit the display text for a hyperlink. For a visual tool it's critical not to waste space with extra fields that could easily be collapsed into one field.

The hyperlink icon is ok. It would be better to have a function like HYPERLINK in Excel. Then you can save space in tables with less columns. I have a table with 2 URLs and a third might be added. The hyperlink icon columns take up space over other more important columns.

This is a simple thing but critical to making report content manageable when including tables and matrix in the reeport. Equally important is the ability to import hyperlinks embedded in text from data sources such as SharePoint lists, Excel, etc.
