For Enterprise data sources such as SSAS models, it would be desirable to have a centralized way to enforce Power BI Desktop users to use live query mode and prohibit data import. This will ensure that none of that data will be pushed to the Power BI cloud service. Should be possible to define this on a per cube/model or SSAS server basis.

RE: Enforce live query against SSAS sources
I agree, it looks like there are on-premises connectivity options but endusers can still upload their own data directly. Could this be addressed with an administrator level control to require only live query sources?
RE: Enforce live query against SSAS sources
Would enable us to use PowerBI easier

RE: Enforce live query against SSAS sources
Absolutely true, a request we've heard a lot, this would take away a lot of concerns for using PBI

RE: Enforce live query against SSAS sources
Very good and important Feature. I hope this will be implemented in the next few weeks.
RE: Enforce live query against SSAS sources
I had this very discussion yesterday with a banking customer of ours. Because I was not able to show them that there's robust, active restriction (despite the admin tenant sign-up blocking) it was a non-starter.
RE: Enforce live query against SSAS sources
Would drive adoption of cloud and PBI
RE: Enforce live query against SSAS sources
I absolutely agree, that would be a very important feature to help adopting dashboarding on the cloud with on premise data sources.
RE: Enforce live query against SSAS sources
I also agree. Very important to implement robust data security models.
