Today it is possible only to have a static data model or direct query. Would really like to have the mainstream refreshable data model available within the embedded offering. Would like to be able to control the refresh via API.

As of June 2017, The Power BI service and Power BI Embedded came together to offer a single API for embedding your dashboards and reports. This means you now have one API surface, a consistent set of capabilities and access to the latest Power BI features – such as dashboards, gateways and app workspaces – when embedding your content. You can read more about it here- https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-developer-embedding/ For those who work with the Power BI Embedded Workspace Collection solution, we built a migration tool for easier data transition. See more info here- https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-developer-migrate-tool/

RE: Allow in-place data model refresh in embedded PowerBI
yesterday we completed training from microsoft and they informed us that they are retiring power BI embedded , in fact already stopped support. they are promoting something called power bi premium or power bi gov. i don't know why. but he clearly mentioned that they broke development cycle and stopped any development for power BI embedded. i also spent a lot time to popup with power BI report and embedded service but looks like we have to start it again. we really want microsoft to support refresh in power bi embedded.
RE: Allow in-place data model refresh in embedded PowerBI
Hello people,
Alternatively we are using PowerBI with direct query and RLS -Row Level Security, which makes the system very slow. As it seems to me.
1-There is no DBA accompanying the development of POWERBI, because the queries are not performative, especially when using the IN.
2-It seems to me that the system does not support a large volume of data when using the direct quey option with RLS.
3 - Even using RLS, you should always filter in buffers, and not go to the database with each click of the mouse .. (here a DBA would go crazy).
In MS Team, when can we count on this functionality?

Absolutely critical.
RE: Allow in-place data model refresh in embedded PowerBI
Must have feature. Without that it`s unusable product
RE: Allow in-place data model refresh in embedded PowerBI
I need it now!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RE: Allow in-place data model refresh in embedded PowerBI
Bump, is this still on track for Q2? a release month would be good. I have a project which needs this in order to inform 100,000 users and the data needs to be refreshed daily
RE: Allow in-place data model refresh in embedded PowerBI
Hi PowerBI Team. Can you indicate where on the roadmap this is?
We seriously need info as we're at a critical decision point on this tech with this refresh feature, or a direct query to documentdb, versus other reporting platform options.
I'd hate to move off PowerBI (embedded), make the invest into another platform, then see this "silently" get created some months later simply because there was no communication on your internal timing & planning.
Please help to make our decisions informed ones.
RE: Allow in-place data model refresh in embedded PowerBI
We could really use this.
If this isn't actually planned, can somebody remove this idea as it's misleading.

Hey Guys, can you let us know when are you planning to implement this?
