Disable auto calculation of measures in desktop

I would like the ability to temporarily disable the calculation of measures in PowerBI Desktop, something like the manual calculation option in Excel. I have large data models with dozens of measures each, and when I create a new measure it takes a long time to do. The more measures I add, the longer it takes.

What helps for me : add an empty tab in the report, and while in this tab make adjustments to my measures.
This seems to take less time for my report telling me it is 'working on it'...

This would make development time so much quicker and less stressful. I feel as if I'm connected to a slow network. Thank you.

I agree. Similar to excel you should be able to stop calculations while working on design.

Yes! We need more votes on this. I have more measures than I can count and to create new ones takes FOREVER.
