Using Power Query and Power Bi Designer, I have found that the connection to the IBM DB2 database is set to work for the Distributed version of DB2, and not for the Mainframe version.

It would be possible to add the DB2 connection for the Mainframe Z/os?

PS if addressing judge amounts of data on DB2 z/OS might want to consider using an accelerator on the DB2 z/OS env. It wil make your queries fly.

DB2 Connect should do the job. Authorisation etc. is an internal issue to your organisation.
