    Power BI January release 2.54 is not working with Direct Query Mode of Vertica. There is some issue with the build.

    This is now part of the Vertica version 8.1.1 and higher releases. Microsoft and Vertica have collaborated to ensure that PowerBI and Vertica interact via a direct-connect approach rather than the old way of downloading batches of data. This results in a boost in performance.

    Please, Vertica support is really critical for many of us. Because we're not going to change our columnar database, and we don't want to change powerbi.

    I work for a big corp and are testing different BI tools, We have Power BI licened; however, it looks like the lack of Vertica is forcing us to switch to Microstrategy and Tableau. I am pulling millions of GIS data and having live query support in PowerBI would tremendously give us almost instant plot on the map.
