Implement the cascading of goals as per the original Power bi Goals/Metrics anouncement Goals in Power BI is becoming ‘metrics’ and is moving to GA! | Microsoft Power BI Blog | Microsoft Power BI

Automatically setup cascading scorecards with hierarchies

Have the ability to create ‘cascading scorecards’ that roll-up along hierarchies in your data. The new hierarchies features enables you to set up a hierarchy for a scorecard and map the Power BI datasets referenced by metrics in the scorecard to the hierarchy and owner fields.

Power BI will automatically cascade metrics to each level of the hierarchy. Users can easily drill into the hierarchy to see status and do check-ins a different levels. Best of all, data is automatically rolled-up to provide a single, aligned, top-level view of your metrics.

To quickly spot outliers or areas to focus you attention, we’ve also created a heatmap view where you can compare metrics from across different levels of the hierarchy right in one view. This is great for spotting areas where even though the top level KPI is green, inside there are areas that are red.

RE: Power BI Metrics Cascading of goals

A Global financial company has been awaiting this feature since its announcement in May 2022 when it was stated it would be released this Summer. Can you please provide an update as to expected availability?

RE: Power BI Metrics Cascading of goals

Hello Alan -most of the PowerBI dashboards we use in the sales community across EMEA have a hierarchy-based approach (country - zone - region) or a ppl-based hierarchyThe announcement on this particular feature you issued earlier in May '22 was presented inside our company and we do consider this as a fantastic improvement. My vote is only 1 - but I do represent the voice of an entire sales organization in EMEA.So, coming back to the basic question - is there any timeline for preview / release that you may share? Thanks a lotLucian
