Within Power BI Report server there is a download drop down menu in the top right corner of the page which offers options to download "Power BI Desktop", "Mobile Report Publisher", "Report Builder" and "Power BI Mobile".
There needs to be an option to disable these. Ideally at a granular level but at the very least the option to disable the actual drop down menu.
This would allow for a clean interface and the removal of options that our end users do not need and cannot actually use as they are not allowed to install applications.

We're happy to report that we've added the option to hide the Download menu in SSRS 2017 (now generally available: https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/sqlrsteamblog/2017/10/02/sql-server-2017-reporting-services-now-generally-available/) and to our upcoming release of Power BI Report Server as well (targeting this quarter -- Q4 CY 2017). Just set the system property ShowDownloadMenu=False (you can use SQL Server Management Studio to manage system properties). We happened to be making an update to the Download menu, and with this feedback in mind, took the opportunity to add this option. As you can see, your feedback really does influence the product. Thanks!

RE: Disable Download buttons in Power BI Report Server
Would it also be posible to make the location of the files configurable? In our orginisation we do not have a direct connection to internet, but we do use the tools.
I would like to change the location to a own webserver or maybe a seperate "tools" virtual directory on reportserver itself?
RE: Disable Download buttons in Power BI Report Server
It should be Account specific so if we allow people to publish or develop reports then it should appear otherwise it should be disabled.

Ricardo, I am unable to locate the ShowDownloadMenu property using SMS 2016. Where exactly will I find this.
