Working in a global company we try to avoid using ambiguous dates, however this is the default in Power BI and it's hard work changing the format of every date field.

I realise for me in the UK my default for 01-Mar-2024 will be 01/03/2024 and my US colleagues will be 03/01/2024 but when data is shared it gets confusing which is why as a large company we try to get everyone to use the dd-MMM-yyyy format resulting in 01-Mar-2024.

Additionally it is not possible to customise dates when in a date hierarchy, even if you implement your own hierarchy it seems impossible to get to the month to sort correctly even if you sort by the month number (it does work if you stack month under year without a hierarchy).

Please can there be an option added to Power BI to set the default date format so we don't have to change every field and allow customisation of the format in date hierarchy to use this default format.

RE: Default Date Format is Internationally Ambiguous

We should be able to set a default date format (for me it would be either yyyy-mm-dd or dd-mmm-yyyy) for all date fields, and be allowed to change for specific dates as needed. We should also have a default option for numbers. If I like to always add 2 decimals and a comma, I shouldn't have to set it for every number.
