Power BI should have a Lite License for people that only consume dashboards or reports every now and then. This is for people that don't create reports but need to see the dashboards and may need to use the "report level" to be able to export output to PowerPoint (since you can't export the dashboard to PowerPoint but can only do it at Report level).
Same idea exactly as posted previous by Collin Quiring (may 2017) and closed!!! by MS.
Due to the extreme cost for SME's PBI dashboard/report consumers I no longer recomend PBI to my customers as an alternative for Business Intelligence Analysis.

RE: Power BI Lite licens

This is badly needed.
It might look better from a revenue point of view to only go with Pro licenses
but for me that is leaving a lot of money on the table.
A lite license for 2 or 3 (€\$) would get lots of subs.
I know I would buy 40 or so and it would also give us more use
of Power BI which could eventually lead to more Pro license purchases.

RE: Power BI Lite licens

It seems like Microsoft as usual is not aware their customer needs. Just visited a customer with 2-3 employees developing reports and dashboards and about 25-30 salespersons just needing to see reports and dashboards. The customer will not pay for that many pro licenses so they will now email the reports. So much for managed self-service BI

RE: Power BI Lite licens

This is exactly what we need.

A way to share dashboards with out internal users (there are competitor products for ~$100 a month)

There is quite a strong desire to align and use the Office365 suite (i.e. powerBI), but based on our business size and licensing it just doesn't make financial sense.

We have 160+ users and don't wish to pay $1600 ($10 per user) a month for 160 pro licences.. when users only look at maybe one report.

What I find interesting is that we can do this for the web for free, but not to a secure company portal.

RE: Power BI Lite licens

Still trying to get folks here talked into the Premium Capacity thing but it's a bit of an uphill battle for sure. I'd love a lite/read-only license for Power BI. We don't need dedicated capacity, just a way for people to be able to read stuff that gets shared by Pro users (without screenshotting, printing to PDF, exporting or emailing).
