At the moment if you're using the web based designer, you're unable to create custom measures. This currently means you have to go back to the source data to add in all possible measures

This feature is greatly needed for business teams that work using web apps. Especially when Power BI Desktop is Windows only. Those in my team who are Mac users, simply are missing features.

I'm surprised this feature isn't available already! Makes it painful when you aren't the publisher of the report but still responsible for editing it.

What if I am connecting to a CRM platform like Salesforce to gather the dataset? I may not have the access/ability to edit the source data even!

I find this to be a problem when using Stream Analytics as a source. You need to include all calculated fields in the query which limits what you can actually do.
