When I'm in Q&A mode and use the matrix visual and select 2 or more fields in Rows, only the top field is displayed. The second field is not displayed and there is no way to drill down. I'm guessing this is due to the fact drill down is not available in dashboards, but when using Q&A and the functionality exists to add as many fields as you want, this seems more like a bug.

UPDATE: I've worked out you can drill down by right clicking on a row. This need to be improved by displaying the drill down icons on the visual.
