There are some stability issues of PBI Desktop and you can lose your work if you haven't saved it regularly.
It would be great to have a similar features as Excel to autosave file and trying to recover work after crash.

With the August release of Power BI Desktop, we added auto-recover functionality to help minimize the impact of a crash. To learn more about how it works, check out our latest blog post about the August release. https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-august-feature-summary/

RE: Autosave PBIX files and recover functionnality
I have actually lost one I had saved... saved it an hour ago. went to save it again before closing up shop, I got an error about memory which I had previously experience. Closed it without saving, again something I had previously done, thinking I still had the version I had saved but that is gone gone gone :'( weeks of work gone can't believe it!!!
RE: Autosave PBIX files and recover functionnality
Seriously can't believe this doesn't have more votes. Maybe other people don't experience Power Bi Desktop crashes like I do.
Just lost another half hours of work because I made a relationship inactive :(
Another because I tried exporting data through Power BI Desktop
It isn't that I don't try saving my work often but that as I get in the zone I don't want to get pulled out just to hit the save button.
Especially with version control auto save is even more important. Although, please implement an autosave that works... unlike Excel auto save.

I've just overwritten my report by publishing it even tough under another name. It is really nessecery to get simple recovery options.
RE: Autosave PBIX files and recover functionnality
For Power BI desktop a setting to automatically save your work at intervals you set would be great
RE: Autosave PBIX files and recover functionnality
Ive lost weeks of work on pbix files because of the lack of recovery options, especially when version upgrades happen it seems I lose a file almost every update.
