The PowerView dashboard will become more robust when it is possible to have regions integrated into the maps (such as country/City/Zipcode/County etc.). In the Power BI designer Preview it seems that the first step has been taken to build this functionality and further development of this feature would be a great. Seeing the filters/slicers work directly on an interactive map (that are not just bubbles but can actually represent a geographical location) is a very powerful visual tool.

Hi Thomas, I think you're asking for a feature that already exists. You can use the 'Filled Map' visualization type in both the Designer and on the web. They're fully interactive and filters/slicers work with them. The only limitation is that you can't pin them to the dashboard - is this your request? We are working on that!

RE: Region maps within Power BI
HI Will,
Thank you for the reply! It is true that the Power BI Designer has a filled map button. It however does not work perfectly yet (when you slice the map it zooms back to world view for instance).
When this feature works well can be pinned to the dashboard my request is answered :)
