You should be able to control the formatting of numbers in tiles on the dashboard and in reports. For example a tile that shows "0.1M" might be better with a more precise number like "123,456".

RE: Customize the formatting of numbers
Hi,
The numbers within the table and matrix are displayed in Lakhs 10,00,000, than in Millions 1,000,000. The Power Query has been updated to reflect the numbers in 1,000,000s.
It doesn't even work after changing the Report --> Modelling view
RE: Customize the formatting of numbers
Hi,
We need a new option in Power bi desktop we are working with financial Reports we need to show amount in CR's(CRORE)
RE: Customize the formatting of numbers
I can format numbers in SSAS, but the formatting does not flow through to PowerBI. And I cannot find a way to format numbers in PowerBI. I'm trying to format a table, but it should be possible to format numbers anywhere they are displayed.
RE: Customize the formatting of numbers
Correction: Number formatting in SSAS does flow through to PowerBI matrices (and I hope, elsewhere). I had neglected to format my measures.
RE: Customize the formatting of numbers
I am importing existing data models in to PowerBI to take advantage of the enhanced reporting capabilities but there are a number of issues making this difficult. One issue is the lack of ability to customize numbers as per Excel. For example, I produce our company P&L rounding to the nearest thousand and showing negative numbers in brackets with a red font. Are there any plans to introduce this in the near future?
RE: Customize the formatting of numbers
its flag has completed, but how to use it?
in a table, I want to format my Sales $ automatically like the gauge visual do it.
RE: Customize the formatting of numbers
Microsoft seems to be treating POWERBI like a developer's obsession rather than a businessman's tool. Missing basic things like number formatting is an example of it
RE: Customize the formatting of numbers
We can create a measure and use nested If to add "Cr"/"Lac"/"Thousand" after the value and pull it un visuals.
thats seems to work for me.
RE: Customize the formatting of numbers
I find it utterly ludicrous that no functionality exists for formatting numbers. I run my business to the penny, not to the nearest .1 million.
RE: Customize the formatting of numbers
This seems to be on a visualisation by visualisation basis. I am using the custom Text Scroller visualisation and it does not include the "Data Label" option to be able to control this.
