Under the existing system , a Power BI theme file should be manually created by following the JSON guidelines on Microsoft's site.
Consider the scenario where I want to create a theme for Table visual. I want to enforce a font style for column headers and alternately shaded rows.
- Make a change to the JSON file
- Reload the JSON file in Power BI
- If it worked - Good. If not - then revert and try some other change.
- Repeat above steps till satisfied
This is extremely onerous. Instead , Power BI desktop should give a functionality where I can export the customized style settings of a specific Visual element. In this case a Table visual.
The experience would be WYSIWYG.
This would be so much more productive.
This would cut down dozens of JSON iterations into just one!!

RE: Option to export the Theme settings out of a specific Visual
This is a great idea, needs to be implemented, especially if Microsoft want this used at a corporate level.
