It would be great if you could use a template that you created while on a live connection and change your connection to another data source so the new data is then populated in the visuals and filters that you have made. This way you could have a base report and be able to apply it to any new data source. Then you won't have to re-create the report every time. Please make this happen!!

RE: Be able to change the data source for live connections
I discovered this issue when I created a new version of the data source report with a different name, and then discovered that the only way of connecting it was to start a new report from scratch.
It would be great to be able to disconnect the live connection to PowerBI service for a report so the data source can be changed.
RE: Be able to change the data source for live connections
Having to recreate a report because the live data source was moved is a big time sink. I should just be able to relink to a new data source, especially if it's more or less identical to the one that was moved or renamed.
RE: Be able to change the data source for live connections
We definitely need this facility to change the connection without creating new report. Its an pain to re create all the reports
RE: Be able to change the data source for live connections
Now I have to edit each query that is used in my report and set the source in each one.
The source must be placed in a place that allows to change it by one go for all. This is really a must for portability.

And change from import mode to direct query without drawing a new report.
