Update the SQL Azure connector to use Azure AD Auth. This will allow row level security in the database to be used with PowerBI.
It would be great to have PowerBI pass through user credentials to the database so that data can be kept secure.

RE: SQL Azure connector with Azure AD Auth
This feature is critical for us to leverage powerBI and powerBI desktop. We would want both user based and service principal based AAD auth.

You can read this article for a work around to use Azure AD in Power BI.

RE: SQL Azure connector with Azure AD Auth
This basically another vote; similar points to those already raised by other people; two notes 1) I don't like SQL Server authentication mainly as I have to embed the login credentials in R-script, which is insecure 2) AAD authentication not available in ODBC either
RE: SQL Azure connector with Azure AD Auth
What is the update on this? This is a very basic requirement. We use the same AAD for SQL, SQL DW, and Data Lake. You should be able to login seamlessly using your AAD credentials.
RE: SQL Azure connector with Azure AD Auth
What's the update on this? Have an admin stating "Have asked Miguel (the product owner for this area) to take a look." on January 24, 2017 9:57 PM but can't see anything further 4 months later?
Surely this has got to be a huge priority for anyone wanting to seriously use Power BI in an Enterprise production environment.
RE: SQL Azure connector with Azure AD Auth
An update on this would be appreciated.
