There should be an option to enable custom tool tip for specific column of Matrix or Table.
Currently for given row same Tooltip is visible for all columns in matrix and table visualisation.
And block the view of the report.

To the powers behind power bi ... Will this ever get developed?!Interested parties want to know
RE: Tool tip for Specific Column in matrix/Table
This is basic functionality that should already be available as it is in every other analytics tool.
RE: Tool tip for Specific Column in matrix/Table
I agree this should be a basic feature in PowerBI to interpret abbreviated column headings or provide info about data sources/currency
RE: Tool tip for Specific Column in matrix/Table
This feature is definitely necessary because when you are presenting dashboard to people you need to explain people what those matric for. If just making buttons alongside with table graph you either make tooltip button outside of graph and cost space or you make them near headers but get messed up if the table can scroll horizontally.
RE: Tool tip for Specific Column in matrix/Table
This is absolutely a "Must Have" feature. I look forward it to be added!
RE: Tool tip for Specific Column in matrix/Table
It's a necessary feature for basic data analysis that is present on many competing platforms. I don't understand why it's not available yet.
RE: Tool tip for Specific Column in matrix/Table
With the current tooltip functionality, the same tooltip ends up showing up across all columns in a table making it is almost unusable. Pretty much all users indicate that it's irritating that it just keeps coming up as they move cursor across the table. Definitely need the ability to set individual tooltips at the column level (to support additional views/explanations per column) and ideally also at the column header level (to provide additional column description in the tooltip)
RE: Tool tip for Specific Column in matrix/Table
I am also looking to have the ability to set definitions on fields so that when a user hovers over a header in a matrix or a table they can see that definition displayed. I have looked for options on how to do this currently but nothing suits my needs right now. In searching I found many similar (beyond the 8 already merged here as of 2023 1011) ideas that should be merged here which are not currently merged.I cannot add the links into the ideas listed below as they are identified as malicious (links to within the Fabric site... wtf Microsoft) I also couldn't paste them in as that breaks the 2k character limit. Again. Wtf? RE: Tool tip for Specific Column in matrix/Table
Throwing in support for this, being able to set Column B as the tooltip for Column A (or better, Table2.ColumnA as the tooltip for Table1.ColumnA) much as we can set a sort column for a different column would be outstanding.
RE: Tool tip for Specific Column in matrix/Table
This is an essential tool for making the tooltips properly useful, especially for tabulated data where you may want a different explanatory tooltip on each column displayed, depending on context. While you're working on this, please can you add an option to hide the tooltip altogether if the designated tooltip value fields are all blank... I have a situation where I only want the tooltip to show when the field populating it actually contains a value.
