RE: field of "duration" type

Please consider implementing this requirement, as this is widely required for many reports.

RE: field of "duration" type

Please consider implementing this into Power BI - it's obviously really needed out there. Time calculations are very common across businesses worldwide.

RE: field of "duration" type

How many up vote is really needed here for developer/MS to work on this please?Does it even really require [IDEA] / [UP VOTE] etc. for such basic requirement? This is one of the simplest requirement in a reporting tool that we should be able to have Duration / Time as Y axis. How else otherwise you can show a multi line chart of expected time of materials arrival vs actual arrival time.Converting to integer? Really that's worse than saying there is no solution. Because if 1458 and 1459 sit next to each other and 1500 stands miles away (because integer gap is 41 where as in reality Minute gap is just 1) then the whole purpose of charting is distorted.

RE: field of "duration" type

I work for SA Health in Australia and we have moved into Power Bi - some people still like Tableau but I'd prefer PBi, please MS work to getting this set. For example I want to be able to plot time periods in either/or X + Y.. I can currently turn time into hour and work with a 24 hour day, and I can manipulate a work around for this, but it could be much easier to show time in a hh:mm format within the charts. Many thanks for your hard work.RegardsClin Epi

Wow... 5 years of upvoting and nothing. Does Microsoft even look at ideas.powerbi.com

Killing me smalls.

RE: field of "duration" type

Yes, it's true that to some extent it can be got round at by (for example) holding an integer as duration in seconds, but then displaying (say) 3,010 seconds on a chart is nowhere near as meaningful as 50 minutes 10 seconds(50:10)! And when the duration goes over 1 day (86,400 seconds) we're into another set of problems!
Durations (resolution of one second or better) with a range of display options. Complete the job that was started within PowerQuery - PLEASE.
