Yes, Connection to Vertica is really important.

Yes, Vertica is really important as it is a great column database, even free for a 3 node 1TB license. Microsoft would be crazy not to support such a good clustered DB for analysis. Continuous querying would also be important.

We are using vertica right now. Probably, the lack of HP Vertica support is one of the major arguments not to switch to PowerBI from Tableau.
