Often we need to expand on an idea from one report further and copy and paste visuals/pages from one PBIX to another. This would be a huge productivity and quality benefit.

We are excited to announce that this shipped in our November update of PBI Desktop: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-november-2018-feature-summary/#copyPaste For those asking, it will be included in the next version of Power BI Desktop for Report Server as well.

In my opinion, this is an absolutely critical feature. Every Microsoft product has copy/paste and I expected this one to have it, too. Not having this would be a show stopper for me if I were the decision-maker.

I thought maybe that was what Export to / Import from a Power BI Template would do. But, to my disappointment, when I opened my "target" PBIX and tried to import my template, a 2nd instance of Power BI Desktop opened with just my template in it. What good is that?

This should absolutely be your highest priority as it is costing too much time to manually re-construct visuals and/or pages.

Because of this I cant divide the task in my team and finally merge all the tasks. It requires extra effort to merge changes by doing from scratch.

This is definitely needed to reuse of visuals across multiple PBIXs

How many votes does something have to get in order for it to be added to your list of future enhancements? This is such an instinctive feature, it's hard to believe you can't do this now. The way I handle it is to save my PBIX as a new name and re-use the pages or visuals I need. But really! No copy/paste????

very very very very useful. Especially when the model is the same for different pbix. or when you start doing something in one pbix and think that it would be better in another on . Its stupid to do it again from scratch.

In addition to Copy/Paste of visuals & pages....it would be very useful to copy & paste tables between PBIX's especially when tables are created within Power BI (at the data view level), rather than externally via excel for example.
