With today's release of the Power BI Desktop, you can now change the color of your font in textboxes. Read all about it in our blog post: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-march-feature-summary/#textbox If you were looking for the background color of the textbox, you can change this in the formatting pane.

RE: Font Color and background color in Text Box

The lack of this feature is incredibly annoying. If I want text in a box that is both broken up with line breaks and with a custom color, the best way to do this is either with multiple text boxes by formatting their titles, or by creating custom text buttons and importing them as images.

For such a common feature, kind of mind-boggling that text boxes can't just include the ability to change font color.

RE: Font Color and background color in Text Box

I Almost solved it with this workaround
Use the "KPI" Visual, Connect anything to the Indicator.
Go to Format on the visual, In Tiltle you can adjust the Text content, Textsize, Fontcolor and Background color of the text. It's just the font you cannot change.

Like.... How did it not get included? I get it, Power BI is not a text editor but... Presentation is half the battle with data.

Please let me change the font colour in text boxes! It's so simple, but it would make me so happy!

I confirm that a major customer has just asked for this as well. Apparently within London financial sector it is common for users to request dark backgrounds to reduce screen fatigue.

RE: Font Color and background color in Text Box

This one really needs to be fixed as it is just frustrating to not be able to change the font colour. I want to place a text box on a black background and have a hyper link in it but I am not able to do it. Putting the text in the title is not an option as there is no wrap around in the title text. Putting it in a visual is not an option as I am then not able to create a hyperlink. Changing the font colour should be easy but at the moment can not be done at all.

I hope it can change soon. Otherwise you can still copy the text to title and then change all the color and there.

RE: Font Color and background color in Text Box

A workaround is to insert a text box, but instead of typing the text directly into the box, go to the options for the text box on the right, select "On" for "Title" and in the "Title Text" enter the text you want and select Font color, size, etc.

RE: Font Color and background color in Text Box

We have just been searching the UI for this feature.

Pretty sure this came out in the first ever version of Word??? Can someone explain how it is 2016, and we can't change the font color on this "Power"ful system?
