There is no favorites option for a report when in an App. The star appears next to reports in the App workspace, and also in the recent tab, however users will often not have access to the App workspace so this is not sufficient.

Our (300+) users were using Favourites when we published everything under workspaces. We have since moved to consumption through apps, and are getting many complaints due to the inability to favourite reports.

What is the point of logging in when information is not carried over? I regularly receive report links (to the online version), and now I cannot retrieve that information in the desktop/app, even though I need to log in there

Our users loved using the Favourites when we published everything under workspaces however since we upgraded to a Premium Dedicated Capacity license and publish reports under Apps, it feels like we've taken a step backwards.

Yes, crucial when using Premium capacity, where most users access most content via apps. Should be able to "favorite" both reports and dashboards that are in apps.

Considering the new Home (preview) feature in the service, if a user only has access to Apps then they will never see dashboard tiles at the top of their Home. If they can favorite dashboards within their Apps then the dashboard tiles section of their Home will get populated. Adding report and dashboard favorites within an App is a necessary feature.

This is crucial for large businesses who reserve workspace access for a subset of users who are report authors or workspace administrators. The large number of report consumers in the company access the data through apps. They may need a handful of reports from different apps but don't use the others. The fact that they cannot create a favorites list for just those few reports is resulting in lack of adoption of Power BI as a reporting solution.

Our app has many dashboards and reports. Users only need certain ones. With a content pack, they could favorite the ones they need. We need the same capability in apps.

Agree with all comments. This would be extremely helpful. Mark an app as a favorite is only marginally useful, if you happen to have dozens of apps. But being able to mark a report as a favorite is essential, as it's easy to have multiple reports across multiple apps that you want to find easily. Please fix!

If you mark a particular App as a favourite you expect it to appear in the Favourites section. This does not happen and needs to be fixed. There is no point adding 'App' as a favourite because that is available from the menu.
