If you have data points with identical x and y values in a scatter plot, you can only access one of them.
It is as if all the others are under the top data point.
When you click on the point, only one item is selected.
If you move the mouse pointer over the data point, you only get information about one data point in the tooltips.
It should be possible - at least as an option - to access all identical entries when you move the mouse pointer over the point in the point diagram or select it.
One possibility would be a range selection, so that one could select all points by marking the range around them.
However, it would be more convenient to get all identical points by simply clicking on them or while hovering. There is no particular reason why any of the items should be selected before the others. They are all valid data in their own right, at least if you want this behaviour.
I fully understand that you might prefer the current behaviour in other circumstances
