It would be beneficial to incorporate features from Pivot tables that allow for the expansion and collapse of columns and hierarchical column groups within tabular visuals. This would not only solve the current limitations of matrices but also provide report creators with the flexibility to hide and show rows and columns, saving these settings for future use, thus eliminating the need to scroll through irrelevant data.

RE: Epic idea: Hide, show, expand, and collapse tabular columns
Yes, needed for showing Year -> Quarter -> Month.
RE: Epic idea: Hide, show, expand, and collapse tabular columns
Time examples have already been posted and valid for me as well. Beside that I'd like to generally be able to show aggregated information in columns which are shown per default, but add additional information for the user in per default hidden columns beside, which the user can expand if he's interested in (to give one other example: to e.g. see which orders on hand are already confirmed, overdue, etc.)
RE: Epic idea: Hide, show, expand, and collapse tabular columns
Same here... we discussed a case: Weeks in the columns and the possibility to +(show) the single days of only the last week.
RE: Epic idea: Hide, show, expand, and collapse tabular columns
Should be very handy.
Year -> Quarter -> Month.
RE: Epic idea: Hide, show, expand, and collapse tabular columns
Being able to collapse heading will allow for looking at 2 distant columns next to each other.
RE: Epic idea: Hide, show, expand, and collapse tabular columns
Exactly! The idea is that this feature is available for both rows and columns. It will help a lot in analyzing the information.
