It would be beneficial to incorporate features from Pivot tables that allow for the expansion and collapse of columns and hierarchical column groups within tabular visuals. This would not only solve the current limitations of matrices but also provide report creators with the flexibility to hide and show rows and columns, saving these settings for future use, thus eliminating the need to scroll through irrelevant data.

Hi Microsoft, any update on this extremely important improvement? Please really consider to add this little, but again, very important feature in Power BI. We need it!

Most of the account reports with date field as column header need drill down feature with collapse option(+/-). It will be great if matrix visual can have this option.

Yes would be very helpfull to add this. I have In the month, year to date measures and 12 month rolling averages. For the YTD and 12 MRA you don't want to see every month but only the last month.

Yes, please! Usually I face a matrix were in rows I have employees names and in columns the year/month/day...

I tried changing the order, but some offices has >30 employees so you can imagine the visual mess of searching them in the columns. In the same way, what I'm doing now it's to having employees in the rows and dates in the columns, but then when you expand to next level up to the day, now the visual displays all days (segmented in months) YTD, imagine what will happen to my matrix in a few more months! and if you are thinking about the filters, I have them, but as this matrix is part of a report showing other features, sometimes final users do not like to use the filters in order to see 'everything at a glance' ...

thank you

Agree with comment and it is realy necessary .....It would be great if column headers in the matrix can be expanded/collapsed the same way as for rows. Our finance users would like to show Year numbers in a column with ability to drill down to quarter, month level columns.
