Reinstate the ability to format the date values in a date slider

In previous versions of desktop it was possible to format the date value in a date slider. So we had ours with white text on a dark blue background. In the latest version this ability has been removed for some reason. In an existing pbix if you add a new slicer you can format paste with an existing slider to format the values. In a new pbix file though there is no way to do this. I can't understand why this change has taken place as it makes the desktop version less functional?
