Power BI
Under Reviewallow url from one column to be specified as hyperlink for another column

Suppose that I have a table that holds product information. One particular column (column A) has a URL value that points to the product page, while another column (column B) holds the product name.
What I am suggesting is that we could customise a model so the URL of column A could be used to make column B (the product name) a hyperlink.
This way if we present a table that in Power BI that shows product names, the product names would be clickable as a hyperlink. Then clicking on the hyperlink would open a browser window, which would show the product page.
Users could specify such relationship in a similar way they specify a column that is sorted by values of another column.

We've started the work to allow you to conditionally format a column as a URL based on a value from another column.

RE: allow url from one column to be specified as hyperlink for another column
This seems like a common sense feature. I realize that in a report that clicking on a field causes it to filter, but if you can make that control work on an Image/Web URL field, then you can make it work on a plain value/text field. This is a simple but important feature. And I just wasted 1 minute typing this because no one will care :)

Yes, please include this
RE: allow url from one column to be specified as hyperlink for another column
I agree with this suggestion and would also like to see URLs supported that do not begin http:, https: or www so that a link can be made to an installed custom protocol handler that the user may have e.g. dynamicsnav:

This is handy in table, but this would be especially useful in Matrix.
RE: allow url from one column to be specified as hyperlink for another column
This is not really what my users want but is the biggest issue we have right now. If we could hide the URL column but still use its value then that would work. But if you have to Display the URL to make this work then the table is oversized. If you can have only the Icon in the column then its column could still be visible so long as its value could be used by another column also. The Basic expectation is that I could click a value in the row and it could work as a URL leading me to the data it refers to.

The current URL functionality is only useful for table visuals since one needs to dedicated a column for the URL/Link. In a matrix view it would be much better if the value itself could be hyperlink.

This is important especially running numbers from quotes, orders, and bill from cloud link.

'@Paul Burbage. The problem is that Microsoft has a complete quantitative approach to even being looking into ideas, which turns uservoice into a popularity contest. Personally I don't have much time to be picketing on the Internet for support for stuff which, as you well put, is pretty much straight forward ;)
RE: allow url from one column to be specified as hyperlink for another column
Not sure why this does not get any votes, is completely straight forward suggestion. Right now only having the options to either show the entire URL or an icon that microsoft decides what it should be, works, but could be better. This seems a very easy alternative.

Yes please, showing the entire URL to get the hyperlink is a waste of valuable table area
