Make it possible to edit the target path of a shortcut.

If the data source gets moved (for some reason) then we should be able to point our existing shortcut to the new target path.

RE: Edit target path of a shortcut

I wish to be able to use the following architecture: [Source table (target path)] -> [Developer's shortcut] -> [Consumer's shortcut]. The developer shortcut item becomes the data exchange interface between the developers and the consumers. The consumer shortcut just points to the developer shortcut object (which has a static address), so the consumers won't need to make any adjustments on their side. I wish to be able to switch the source table (target path), so the developer shortcut could switch which source table (target path) it points to.

RE: Edit target path of a shortcut

The purpose is to avoid downstream issues. If we had the option to edit the target path of the shortcut, then we would not need to update any downstream dependencies. It would be a smooth experience. However the current situation is that we need to create a new shortcut in order to connect to the new target path, and therefore we will also need to manually update all our downstream dependencies.
