To fix inconsistencies in analytic settings, functionality needs to be enhanced to ensure they are on par with other visual component enhancements made for Cartesians, and additional settings for scatter charts is also necessary. Report creators will find it easier to format and customize settings to align with the overall look and feel of their reports.

RE: Epic idea: Extended analytic functionalities

I work for the South Australian Health Department and can say with confidence - we really need to be able to have the X-axis dates lined up with the Y axis values, and to be able to choose the date format is paramount. Otherwise our audience is guessing.

Our end users are eager to adapt this product, but get put off when simple changes like having all the dates show WITH a trend line still visible are not available, I would have thought with Charts being the main feature of Power Bi that ALL the different chart options currently available in Excel would also be available in Power Bi.

Please update the Report Server version of Power Bi to have more X-axis date options.

This functionality would be hugely useful. I'm surprised it's not an option already. It seems silly that you can't show all your X Axis data points AND have a trend line. In what world do you not care about your X Axis data points?

Thank you,
Jesse

This is a feature that our Users are all asking for, as the missing labels are causing issues with understanding the data for a simple bar chart.

I would be happy with the ability to sort the x axis for continuous line charts but this is even better. This is a must have feature!

I can understand the difficulty of showing trends over all categories.
But trends over date hierarchies should work fine.
It feels like a bug that it can't.

This is the #1 thing missing from Power Bi. Its a bit embarrassing when discussing with an auditor that you have a great charting program that dynamically reaches across rolling 6 month and 12 month data.....and then have to show them a different chart that you made in excel in order to satisfy their requirement to show a positive trend in that data.
