Enable me to allow Consumers of the 'Publish to Web' embedded link the ability to download the data. Similar to with report viewing/creating in the service or desktop that we can select download from the '...' more actions of the visual.

You need to do this to make you competitive with Tableau.

RE: Publish to Web - enable data download feature

I have my website http://nemtracker.github.io/ that show near real time Electricity Market in Australia, Initially I was using PowerBI, but the lag of 1 hour was problematic, users expect to see recent data not data from 1 hour ago, anyway, I had to use a third party BI Solution and very happy with it, But I Miss PowerBI ( as it has more advantages, maps, better report tooltips etc)
I am very excited by this update but the lack of data download is a showstopper.
Please give us the option to let the ser download data

RE: Publish to Web - enable data download feature

Muchas gracias

RE: Publish to Web - enable data download feature

There should be an ability to export the chart visual to a .csv and print the chart, button option of some sort.
I understand why Power Bi has not yet made this a feature due to security issues for "Publish to Web (Unsecured)".
But we have our own Authentication to our web sites which puts some security measures.
Looking forward when this feature will be implemented.

Please, we need this feature. It would also be so useful if the report owner can enable or disable this export in the report published to web.

Still waiting for this feature. About to drop Power "BI" simply because our users cant print or export from our embedded reports on our website. Anyone on here recommend certain competitors?

RE: Publish to Web - enable data download feature

Hi, Microsoft team. Please enable this feature. Without 'export function'- publishing a dashboard does not make much sense. We publish a dashboard on the web, when we want it to be seen and used by everyone. This is not a matter of data security, as if users want they can enter the data manually while looking at the dashboard. But, that is very painful for the users. I am big fan of Power BI- but this limitation is very frustrating

RE: Publish to Web - enable data download feature

Users of the content should be allowed to export. I can appreciate the interest from Microsoft to enable users to explore content within the dashboards. But in reality that there is content we need to share with others in a table format and allow them to feel free to explore on their own. As part of a government agency, we are constantly challenged to be transparent. Giving the control of the content to the public is a way to do so.
