The fields and visualization panes could use a redesign. There are several requirements to improve these panes:
- option to hide these panes when in 'full screen' mode
- option to toggle these panes to overlay panes (graphics is not resizing, wait for resizing no longer neccessary)
- option to hide these panes when in 'view bookmarks' mode
- option for different background color
- option for smaller font size
