its well known that intellisense has always been broken with things like ListList.Contains
or pressing . after typing certain prefixes does not correctly show options, or typing null enter puts null.type in.
Also a huge issue is no intellisense in Dataflows
both need fixing

Update 9/9/2024: We've merged similar ideas around needing Intellisense in Power Query into a single idea. We have no plans of making any investements in the legacy Power Query UI, but the new modern Power Query UI found within Power Qury Online (Dataflow) can pursue this enhancement. The modern Power Query UI will ship inside of all products where Power Query is present today such as Power BI Desktop and Excel for Desktop.

I completely agree 👍 we need this now 😁

Yes, thank you for bringing this to a vote.

Completely with you on this! Upvoted.
RE: Fix Power Query Intellisense
I couldn't agree more on this one.hopefully Power Query development team can get some ideas from VS code intellisense. There, it works perfectly, at least for Python and SQL (these are the programming languages I work the most. Haven't tested others, but I'm assuming they work equally well given VS code popularity).Thank you.
RE: Fix Power Query Intellisense
Agreed 100%The current behavior is very disruptive. Thank you for posting this, Wyn!
RE: Fix Power Query Intellisense
Fully agree. One of my biggest issues is intelligence guessing what you want, and almost always getting it wrong. It always replaces Text.Start with some function I never use!
RE: Fix Power Query Intellisense
Makes sense even if you don't think about it...
RE: Fix Power Query Intellisense
There are plug-ins for Notepad++ and Visual Studio Code and probably other editors, but it would be more convenient to have it in the "Advanced" editor.
RE: Fix Power Query Intellisense
They do have Intellisense for M / Power Query, but it is as buggy as a trucker's windshield. I tried to bring this up at the Community Forum but not getting a lot of traction:
