The new Field Parameters feature implemented in Power BI Desktop should be implemented in Power BI Desktop (RS) & the Power BI Service, and moved out of Preview Features.
The new feature works incredibly well & optimizes the requirement for being able to slice by multiple attributes at different levels in the matrix, giving the user greater functionality & options in analyzing the data.
It prevents the need for alternative solutions that violate modeling best practices such as using an unpivot table (duplicating data for every attribute to be sliced, becoming expensive & time-consuming in backend processing) or bookmarks (which have a cache limit with Microsoft Edge WebView2, restricting the amount of bookmarks/attributes that can be added to & switched at multiple levels).
However, with Field Parameters currently not available in the standard desktop suite, we are unable to deploy this streamlined solution until the feature has become available in Report Server & the PBI Service.
Please make it an official feature, no longer just in Preview :)
