When a Power BI report has a live connection to Analysis Services, Power BI generates DAX queries which can be traced on the Analysis Services instance (either Azure AS or on-prem AS tabular or multidim).
However, in enterprise scenarios with many users and lots of reports, it can be very challenging to identify which report generated a particular query against the server. This is very important for performance and usage monitoring for governance and management purposes.
If Power BI could include some information to identify the report in the DAX - for example as a simple comment at the top of the query - it would make monitoring so much easier.
Information included in the comment should be:
Name of the Power BI report
Name of the page within the report
Type of visual within the page
Title of the visual (if the visual has a title property)
