Stacked bar charts already display the value of each section of a bar, but there isn't a way to display the total value of each bar, which would include all the sections.

The Total labels option exists today within the Format settings.

Very much needed!!

Come ON!! This a basic stuff and probably the work of an hour to fix. Please do this - remember not all CEOs are good with math and would also say they don't want to expend any time adding up data.

This is absolutely a necessity for my business. I'm trying to work around it with a stacked line chart, but even that has its draw-backs. NEED NEED NEED!!
RE: Display total value of a bar on a stacked bar chart
Using the combo stacked bar and line chart is not an adequate work-around. The line shows and the bar total doesn't also show on top of the bars. There should be an option to show the grand total label without showing the bar segment labels, and vice-versa.

This is a really basic need ! Plus it would be great if we could choose by which value the bars are organised on the chart (by one specific section, or the total amount)
